Our time in the bush of the beautiful and well-preserved Okavango Delta came to an end on Thursday night with a nice open-air dinner and a more restful night in our open air accommodation.

The next three days our cars had some time off and on Wednesday day morning we were split in three groups. Then we were transferred to the airport where we found a small but brand new airport building.

When we arrived at the Popa Falls lodges we were allocated our own little house on the grounds of this jungle type property. Below the deck of our house ran a small overgrown river.

The Etosha Lodge is a really nice place to stay. Like all the other lodges there is a main building with reception bar and restaurants and each guest has his own little house on the grounds of the property.

Today the teams were free to drive from the South Gate of this vast park to the East Gate. Sounds like a walk in the park but it is about 140 km’s .

After yesterday’s horrible accident the rally route was adjusted from about 400 km gravel roads to a longer route but all on tarmac.

It is Friday the 13th and we are now safe and well in a beach front hotel in Swakopmund – Namimibia.

Following a mild first day, today a 650 km day with a lot off- road /gravel driving. After only twenty km our first off-road time trial.
