Mick and Grace were married in 1983 and will celebrate their 35th anniversary in April 2018.
In 2015 the team of Mick and Grace de Haas teamed up for the first time to compete in a serious rally, The Trans America Challenge. A 9000 km trek from Halifax in Canada to San Francisco.
Apart from doing a few local charity rally events, where most of the time we lost our way after lunchtime, we never did any serious rallies together.
The TransAmerica rally turned out to be a revelation and from day one Grace took to route books as a fish out of water. The regularity sections became fun to do and we reached San Francisco in 9th place overall.
